29 and 30 June 2022: The new Strategic Concept was officially adopted at this summit in Madrid, setting out the course for the next ten years.

July 9-11, 2024: This was the period of the major anniversary summit in Washington D.C., exactly 75 years after the founding of the alliance in the same city. During the anniversary summit in Washington, it was formally established that the 2% is no longer a target number, but the absolute bottom.
